Cozy AI Kitchen Sizzler

Microsoft

This project was so much fun to work on. I was provided mimil direction and access to artwork and assets. The stakeholder really wanted creativity to flow here so I had a lot of freedom as to what the final outcome would look like. I just did my thing and got as creative as I could! Here is some feedback from the stakeholder:

Hey - just had to say - great job on that Cozy AI Kitchen promo - love the editing. Mixing in the guests, seeing the kitchen, then cutting back to the green screen and showing the behind-the-scenes magic.  Should get some attention.”

Microsoft Reactor Brand Video

Microsoft

This video was specifically created for paid promotion. It involved collaboration with numerous individuals within Microsoft's developer relations department to bring it to fruition. The project entailed working alongside Cloud Advocates who partnered with my team to capture talking head shots based on a script that I had prepared in advance. As the sole editor, I utilized Adobe Premiere to edit the video, while also incorporating custom mograph and lower thirds designed specifically for this project using After Effects.

Undertaking this project was an enjoyable experience. However, the most challenging aspect revolved around coordinating with the diverse group of Cloud Advocates and Product Managers (PMs) due to their busy schedules and geographic dispersion across different time zones.

What I Wish I Knew

Microsoft

I was included in this project as a part of the Microsoft Studios department. There were multiple editors on this initiative with all mograph and lower thirds provided along with documentation on how to edit. I got to collaborate with several different people within Studios while editing and get feedback from stakeholders. For each take in this series a 16x9 (like this example) was created in addition to a <1:00 9x16 version that was uploaded as a YouTube Short. I felt very comfortable with this project because there was clear documentation and expectations for the final product and we used frame.io for feedback and uploading different versions for approval.

Serverless September Challenge

Microsoft

This was a fun project to collaborate with Cloud Advocate, Gwyn Peña-Siguenza. Gwyn provided documentation and raw footage of a multipart series that I edited into 12 different episodes. All editing was done within Premiere and all mograph and lower thirds were custom made in After Effects. Gwyn was great to partner with and this turned out to be an effective strategy for using on-demand content to lead up to upcoming live-streamed events.

Serve Day 2023

Haven Worship Center

This happens once a year at my church where volunteers go into the community and serve on different projects. Our Creative Resourcing department has the task of filming and editing a recap video to be shown the very next day as a part of Sunday services (Serve Day always happens on a Saturday). This is the most recent example. We had a crew of 8 photographers and videographers getting footage and taking pictures. After we got our clips I had a photo editor and a video editor that helped me piece this together. I was the director and lead editor of the whole project and I am happy to say that it was well received. Turned out to be a 15 hour day for me and my video editor.

Warner University Brand Video

Freelance

As a freelance content creator I was contracted for a brand video by one of our local universities. President David Hoag was a pleasure to work with and a true professional. We showed up on site, set up our lighting, cameras and teleprompter and President Hoag stepped in front of the teleprompter and nailed his lines on the first take. All editing done in Premiere and all mograph was custom made within After Effects.

Hector Gonzalez Testimony

Haven Worship Center

This project was another example of a quick turn around. We set up the interview, shot the interview, and edited the interview within 1 week. My videographer at the church set up the cameras and lighting with my approval and I edited the shots together. The most challenging part of this project was cutting down the testimony to 7:30 minutes. We easily had over 30mins of great interview footage but we had to meet a certain criteria in order to fit it into our services on Sunday morning.

Inspection Ready Enterprises - Brand Video

Freelance

Here is another example of a brand video made for a local business. I worked with one stakeholder with a strong and bold vision. We sat down for several different meetings as this was part of a larger project of building out his multi-service business’ website and brand strategy. It was agreed that strong video presence on the website would make for a more compelling brand strategy. Looking at competitors in the area, I think we pulled off a really impressive array of media for this local’s new business.

I Speak Jesus - Music Video

Haven Worship Center

I got to direct, shoot, and edit this music video that our church’s worship team put together. One of the biggest things that I learned from this project was the importance of establishing shots. We got a lot of creative and “artsy” shots but the lack of establishing shots makes it hard for the viewer to understand the layout of the space and feel like they could imagine themselves there.
